Summary: For this project, I used Maya to model an interior space using a client's specifications.
Details: For this assignment, we were asked to pick or create a god or goddess, and then to model an office based off of this entity. We were told not to worry about the poly-count, but were instead told to focus on the scale/impressiveness of our structure as a whole. I decided to model an office for the "goddess of victory", and illustrated this by drawing inspiration from gothic architecture and old churches. I created several modular elements which I used throughout the building process, focusing again on large, elegant arches which reminded me of regality/victory. I spent a lot go time on the texture-development aspect of this process, as I chose to make the structure out of gold, white marble, red velvet and stained wood, in order to give the impression of wealth that is often associated with victory. I also spent a large amount of my time on the lighting in this space, as I wanted to create an ethereal feel through blinding white light, obscuring the view of the outside of the office while illuminating its interior. By the end of this project we were asked to produce a short animation that is meant to give a tour of the office space, exhibiting all of the features that we included. In the images bellow I have included a render of the outside of this structure, because although the focus of this project was on the interior, I wanted to show how I put the space together.
