Summary: For this project, I used Maya to animate a simple ball.
Details: For this assignment we were asked to animate a simple ball in 3 different ways, each time altering some of the ball's properties. For my first animation, I decided to animate a simple bouncy ball, so I attempted to portray its lack of density by creating larger bounces, and focusing on the bounce and stretch of the ball itself. For my second animation, I animated a much heavier ball, illustrating its increased density by decreasing the size of its jumps, and removing the squash and stretch from the ball completely. For my final animation, I decided to animate a more cartoonish ball, adding a sense of sentience by having the ball gain momentum before bouncing towards the bullseye. I attempted to add to the cartoonish affect of this animation by exaggerating the squash and stretch of this ball, as well as the size of its bounces to the point where they feel more like jumps than actual bounces.
